A new 40 unit green development utilizing green technology in conjunction with affordable housing has been completed in Fort Myers, Florida. The project was completed by the Lee County Neighborhood stabilization program which buys foreclosed properties and renovates them. Green features include solar powered water heaters, energy efficient light fixtures, plumbing, HVAC, windows and insulation. I’m looking forward to seeing continued utilization of green features in low income housing development. The QAP’s of most state’s now provide incentives for utilizing green design and construction.
