The Housing Authority of Yamhill County seeks an experienced, professional leader who is passionate about housing and community development. The successful individual will report to a five-person Board of Commissioners and is responsible for directing the overall administration of all Housing Authority and Yamhill County Affordable Housing Corporation programs and projects. The Executive Director will provide the vision, leadership, and management to set and direct operational goals and objectives, administrative reporting procedures and requirements, and manage agency personnel to effectively operate the organization. The Executive Director is responsible for overall agency direction and budget, implementation of federal and state housing policies and programs, strategic asset management and property development, and building and sustaining community relationships to leverage the benefit to Yamhill County residents. The Executive Director will represent the Housing Authority on local, statewide, regional and national levels to promote awareness of housing needs, programs, and services and will assist the agency in being a driver of collaborative action around community development strategies. The successful candidate will be familiar with affordable housing programs, budgeting, financial management, housing development, personnel management, and federal housing regulations and policies. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage teams effectively.
Job requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public administration, urban or regional development, or closely related field as well as a minimum of five years progressively responsible experience in an executive/management level with a housing authority, public or non-profit service agency including demonstrated experience in selecting, training, motivating, evaluating, and disciplining employees. Demonstrated experience in building multiple revenue streams and increasing community and governmental support is required. The equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform in this position may also be considered.
