Under the supervision of the Rental Office Manager, the Housing Specialist will be responsible for assisting all individuals referred for permanent supportive housing via the Coordinated Entry System (CES), Department of Health Services (DHS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), and other direct agency referrals; and will be responsible for the successful completion of all phases of the housing process. The Housing Specialist will be responsible for: outreaching to individuals referred for housing; assisting individuals in obtaining all necessary paperwork needed for the leasing process; assisting with and ensuring completion of SRO Housing Corporation’s Housing Application; assisting with and ensuring the successful completion of all applications and paperwork for the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles (HACLA).
Tax Credit Compliance or Section 8/Low Income Housing: 2 year Section 8 housing, 2 years Affordable housing industry. At least 2 years’ experience as a housing specialist with homeless and/or difficult to service populations is required. Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in a social services discipline.
Computer Skills Required: MS Office Suite, Yardi
