Women’s Inn Overnight Supervisor, Tues-Sat, 1045PM-915AM

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

 

It is the overall responsibility of the supervisor to plan, organize and oversee the evening program and the personnel who carry out that program so that the guests receive the services they need in the spirit and philosophy of the Pine Street Inn. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

REQUIRED:         

  •  High School diploma or equivalent certification

PREFERRED:      

  •  BA or equivalent, some supervisory experience

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:         

  •  Organization skills

PREFERRED:      

  •  Some knowledge of addictions and mental illness

PHYSICAL ABILITIES/SKILLS

REQUIRED:

  •  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance as needed
  •  Ability to use computers as needed

MENTAL ABILITIES/SKILLS

REQUIRED:

  •  Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  •  Ability to remain focused under pressure
  •  Ability to work well with others

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  •  Hire, train, evaluate and discipline staff
  •  Provide leadership, direction and support for the shift
  •  Delegate duties and tasks to staff members
  •  Process payroll and scheduling and keeps records for both
  •  Attend and participate in meetings with Women’s Inn Administrator, other supervisors and Management Team meetings
  •  Coordinate staff meetings
  •  Train and supervise volunteers on the 3-11 shift
  •  Keep accurate statistics and submit monthly reports
  •  Supervise shift programs, such as: holiday planning, fire procedures, meals, clothing distribution, supplies/storage, guest check, donations, guest mail, coat room services, and building maintenance/security
  •  Work with program administrator in planning and implementing programs in the Women’s Inn
  •  Act as a liaison between administration and staff, between the 7-3 shift and other shifts, and between the shift and other programs such as the transitional program, the clinic, the psych department, kitchen, services, the Men’s Programs, the volunteer department, the Boston Police Department and outside agencies
  •  Perform other duties as assigned
