Non-Profit Fined

Affordable Housing Network Inc has been fined $60,000 for asbestos related violations at Hawthorne Hills Apartments in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  According to a report in the gazette a judge assessed a civil penalty against the non-profit network last week citing violations in the removal of 60,000 square feet of asbestos containing material.  The non-profit failed to inspect the property and alls ubsequent violations resulted from that lack of inspection.  The non-profit maintains that the violations were unintentional but agreed to pay the fine to settle the case.
