Pittsburgh Housing Authority Seeks Mug Shots

The Pittsburgh Housing Authority wants local law enforcement to provide mugshots of anyone that is arrested on their property.  They would like those photos to be available to them so they can add trespassers to their exclusion list with visual identification.  The housing authority believes without pictures the list is not very effective.  However,  Pittsburgh police say they can not provide the photos to a non-police agency.  The Pittsburgh Housing Authority used to have its own police force back in 2007.  That force was merged with the current police department to save money during the Great recession.   Read more about this issue here.
