Saratoga Springs Mayor Scott Johnson has said that Dennis Brunelle the Chairman of the board for the Saratoga Springs Housing Authority will not be reappointed to his position. The chairmans five year term ended this past sunday and was marked by controversy over an executive’s salary and a bedbug infestation at an apartment building.
The bedbug infestation happened at a 176 unit apartment building overseen by the housing authority called Stonequist Apartmtents. The residents had to go as far as petition the city council before an exterminator was hired to help eliminate the pests.
The Chairman was also criticized for the $152,000 salary paid to the executive director which was twice the salary paid when the position was filled in 2006.
