Senator Seeks Probe of Mass Housing Authority

Iowa Republican Charles Grassley has asked federal housing officials why top mangers are allowed to live in subsidized properties while low income families on waiting lists do not have those units.  The senator has already launched an investigation into the Chelsea Housing Authority for the salary of $360,000 given to former director Michael Mclaughlin.  Additionally it is believed some employees making $50,000 a year are living in public housing for $25 monthly rent.

The Boston Globe has reported that the senators concerns were sent in a letter to HUD Secretary Donovan.
